Poetry and Short story Contest
The Ministry of Culture organizes each year the poetry and short story contest. This contest is open to secondary school and university students from public and private sectors, aged between 15 and 24 years. The texts can be written in three languages: Arabic, French or English.
- The texts must be submitted from the 1st of March to October 30 each year
- Texts are classified by category in November and December, and then sent to the jury in January. Results are announced in February every year.
- Prizes, certificates of merit and awards are granted for the first ten winners at a ceremony held in the presence of the Minister of Culture.
- The ministry publishes a booklet that includes the winning texts and distributes it to schools and universities participating in the contest. It also publishes a brochure that contains the winner’s names, their photos and some information about them (email, phone number, the name of the school or university, their interests)
Note: Texts should be submitted to the Ministry of Culture-Hamra Beirut--rue Madame Curie-Hatab building-7th floor.
Required documents:
- The Text of the poetry or the short story -A4 paper format. (The text should not exceed 5 pages)
- The photocopy of the ID or a civil status record
- Personal information (phone number (landline or mobile) - e-mail - name of the school or the university)
