Salamé held discussions with a delegation from the Arab Council for Social Sciences to strengthen cooperation and organize research activities at the National Library.

The Minister of Culture, Dr. Ghassan Salamé, received a delegation from the Arab Council for Social Sciences, headquartered in Lebanon, at its offices at the National Library in Sanayeh. The delegation included Dr. Elizabeth Suzan Kassab, Chair of the Board of Trustees; Dr. Setnay Shami, Director General of the Council; Elias Kattar, Director of Communications and Publications; and Rula Kiladjian, Head of the Administrative Affairs and Human Resources Department.
The delegation briefed the Minister on the progress of the Council's work and its mission to produce knowledge in the social sciences and humanities in the Arab region and around the world.
The discussion focused on strengthening cooperation between the Ministry and the Council to improve knowledge production in the social sciences and humanities in the Arab region.
The discussion also focused on organizing Council activities that would bring together researchers from the region and around the world at the National Library.
The delegation thanked Minister Salamé for his "unwavering contribution to the work and results of the Council," as he was the keynote speaker at the Council's third conference, which resulted in a book entitled "Dr. Salamé's Conference: Thirst for the State and Suspicion of It."
