Support for cinematographic works:
The Ministry of Culture contributes to the financing of the productions and activities of the cultural industries and the knowledge economy especially the production of films, documentaries and audio-visual publications.
A special committee is in charge of reviewing and assessing the films. Thus, the ministry decides to grant its support to the cinematographic work to which the committee gave its approval.
Conditions and required documents:
Conditions:
- Eligible projects: feature length film, feature length documentary, short film, short documentary, experimental film and animated film.
- Eligible fields: script development for long and short films, research for documentary films, technical operations of filming, editing and mixing, etc., promotion of the film and participation in Special festivals (copy, freight, travel, accommodation, translation, etc.).
- Once the supported project is completed, several documents must be filed within a period of 6 months after the completion of the project:
- For all types of films: a copy of the film (DVD as well as a media file and a poster of the film)
- Ensure the promotion and guarantee the participation in festivals: a report must be submitted in this respect.
- Only the producer of the film, whether a natural person or an institution, is entitled to submit the application.
- The producer shall mention the name and the logo of the Ministry of Culture, as the sponsor of the project, on all publications related to the project.
- The direction reserves the right to refuse any request with any missing document.
- The approval is deemed final once signed by the Minister of Culture.
- The support decision is effective for a period of two years (with the possibility of 6 month extension) during which the cinematographic work must be completed.
- The producer shall repay the entire amount of the financial support if the project is not completed.
- Signing the support request is deemed as a tacit consent to the above-mentioned conditions.
- The Ministry of Culture has the right to use its copy of the film to organize non-commercial cultural activities in Lebanon and abroad.
Required documents:
- The application form
- The Note of Intent.
- The script approval from the censorship department of the Lebanese General Security.
- 11 Copies of the script (for long and short films) and a CD-ROM
- 6 Copies of the subject of the film (for documentary films) and a CD-ROM
- The synopsis (maximum 3 pages).
- The CV of the producer, the director and the scriptwriter.
- The estimate of the work
- The plans for financing and production.
- The Certificate of registration at the Ministry of Finance.
- The Certificate of bank transfer (IBAN).
NOTE: NB: The application form must be submitted with the required documents in an envelope during the working hours at the registry of the General Directorate of Cultural Affairs.
