Minister of Culture, Dr. Ghassan Salamé, met in his office at the National Library-Sanayeh with Member of the European Parliament and Vice-Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Hana Jalloul.

Jalloul explained in a statement that "the meeting discussed the general situation and Lebanon's relationship with the European Union, particularly with regard to cultural affairs." She said, "I was honored to meet with Minister Salamé, and it was a fruitful meeting during which we discussed a number of cultural issues."

She added, "We are optimistic about the presence of this government, which represents a beacon of hope for Lebanon and the Lebanese, and we are confident that positive changes will take place for Lebanon and its people."
