The Minister of Culture, Dr. Ghassan Salameh, received in his office at the National Library - Sanayeh, the Italian Ambassador to Lebanon, Fabrizio Marcelli, on a courtesy visit during which he congratulated him on assuming office.

Discussions focused on the developments in Lebanon at all levels as well as the bilateral relations between Lebanon and Italy and the existing cooperation between the Ministry and the Embassy in a number of cultural projects.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Marcelli said that he was delighted to meet Minister Ghassan Salameh, considered one of the internationally renowned figures.

He also added that the visit was an opportunity to discuss the development of an action plan to support cultural heritage in Lebanon, recalling that during his previous term, the Minister of Culture signed a cultural cooperation agreement between the two countries, in which Italy committed to support the restoration and rehabilitation of archaeological and historical buildings in order to preserve Lebanon's cultural heritage.
